Electrical Code requires that inverters be installed with a battery circuit breaker to protect against short circuit and overload conditions, and act as an emergency shutdown. SPS DC Disconnects are powder coated enclosures with knockouts and a main circuit breaker to handle the high DC current required by large inverters. It also can be used as a combiner box, with optional DC breakers for solar array connections up to 60 amps, load breakers of 20 amps and a negative bonding block for all power system negative DC connections.
